Hey everyone, I'm sorry this update has been so long in coming out.
Happy Spring! Almost everything is green now here in Alberta, and I love looking out our family's living room window at the sun filtering through and beautifully illuminating the leaves of the deciduous trees in the forest next to our house. It honestly looks like someplace where fairies would live.
I know waaay back in September, I was talking about a story that I'd reference as 015. Well if you don't already, you should know that I am very eager for things and often will say I'm going to carry through with something before I've completely thought things out. I've decided that story #015 needs more plot and character development before I can do any more of it. Sigh.
On the other hand, however, now that I'm on summer break, I have made an enormous goal to write an entire novel over the course of the summer. Yeah. I know. It's a lot, but I'm going to try. This novel actually has a name, it's called Curse of the Red Amulet. Here's a brief synopsis:
'Sheveleth forest was a different thing entirely. The trees in Sheveleth forest were huge, brooding, and hundreds of years old. The ecosystem had long ago collapsed, and the forest was inhabited mainly by deer and wolves.
It had a strange, brooding, terrifying feel to it, that was enough to drive some warriors insane. The forest wasn’t a place anyone wanted to visit, let alone get lost in. It was too dangerous for that.
Getting lost in Sheveleth was a death sentence.'
After a battle with the enemy clan, the Senkerris, seventeen-year-old Arinya is desperately searching for her clan. She was separated during the fight, and knows without her clan she has no hope of survival.
Then she stumbles across a Senkerrisian warrior, young, weaponless, alone. Although Arinya has been taught to kill any Senkerrisian she sees, she knows her chances of survival will increase if she has a companion. She chooses to take the boy back to her clan as a prisoner.
As they progress through the forest, Arinya finds that she just can’t hate her sworn enemy any more. When they draw near to the boundaries of Varteras, the pair discover a chilling secret. A secret that shocks them both. A secret that holds the answer to why the two Clans have been at war for so long.
Spurred by this discovery, Arinya and the boy decide to apprehend the person who they both know is the only one who would dare to do this. But it is a dangerous task, and they both know that this could be a trap - one that could cost them their lives.
Currently I'm only about 4,000 words into this novel, but I'm really excited to get it done. I'm not gonna lie but I miiight have already designed a cover 😬 😜
I'll try to send you all frequent updates on how it's going! Thanks for reading and happy May!
